Camden Council
Constructive Resettlement
Role
Motion Lead
Overview
Working with the London Resettlement Partnership, I led the motion design across a series of explainer animations created to support young men transitioning from the child estate into adult prison. The animations were designed to make complex and emotionally difficult subjects feel clearer, more accessible and less overwhelming, while reinforcing messages of hope, responsibility and rehabilitation.
Alongside this, I also created animations aimed at professionals working within the criminal justice system, helping raise awareness around topics such as adultification bias and constructive resettlement.
Approach
Due to the sensitivity of the subject matter, it was important to properly understand the realities surrounding probation, transition and rehabilitation to ensure the animations were created with care and responsibility. Working closely with clients and specialists with lived and professional knowledge, I developed motion-led storytelling that balanced clarity with empathy, helping communicate difficult topics in a way that felt human, accessible and supportive.
The animations combined character-led illustration, accessible pacing and clear visual hierarchy to ensure key messages could be understood visually as well as through narration.
